ABORTION
The following Scriptures prove that a life starts at conception. Abortion is murder.
Jdg 13:5 For behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. And no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.”
Psa 22:10 I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You have been My God.
Isa 49:1 “Listen, O coastlands, to Me, And take heed, you peoples from afar! The LORD has called Me from the womb; From the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name.
Isa 49:5 “And now the LORD says, Who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, To bring Jacob back to Him, So that Israel is gathered to Him (For I shall be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, And My God shall be My strength),
Jer 20:17 Because he did not kill me from the womb, That my mother might have been my grave, And her womb always enlarged with me.
Hos 12:3 He took his brother by the heel in the womb, And in his strength he struggled with God.
Luk 1:15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.
Job was a child from conception.
Job 3:3 “May the day perish on which I was born, And the night in which it was said, ‘A male child is conceived.’
Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and only a fool would say that the Son of God was not alive in Mary’s womb.
Mat 1:20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
Elizabeth had a son from the moment of conception.
Luk 1:36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren.
The baby leapt in the womb of Elizabeth.
Luk 1:41 And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
It is clear from the Bible that human life begins at conception, and therefore abortion is murder.
There is just one thing to consider regarding abortion. Love and mercy can override the law, and there may be a rare circumstance in which it is an act of love to abort a foetus for example, when the mother’s life is at risk, or when the foetus is so severely deformed that the child would be stillborn.
However, in the majority of cases today, there are abundant varieties of birth–control options available. Of course, the Bible teaches – and so do we, – that there should be no sex before marriage. This would prevent all of these problems. However, if people choose not to follow these simple directives from the Bible, then surely a mature person would use contraception if they chose to live a promiscuous lifestyle. This option is far better than becoming pregnant and then aborting the baby, which is killing a child.
People need to understand that abortion is murder.
