JESUS CHRIST OF THE BIBLE

There is a major difference in the genealogy of Christ; as mentioned in Matthew 1, and Luke 3.

There are no mistakes in the correct translation of the Bible, so there must be something that we have not known.

.

In Matthew, the line comes from David through Solomon.

.

Mat 1:6 and Jesse begot David the king. David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah.

.

In Luke, the line comes through Nathan.

.

Luk 3:31 the son of Melea, the son of Menan, the son of Mattathah, the son of Nathan, the son of David,

.

Both of these lines trace down to Joseph. In Matthew we read Joseph who was from the Solomon line was the husband of Mary.

.

Mat 1:16 And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.

.

This Joseph was the one who was engaged to Mary at the time she became pregnant with Jesus. He then went on to marry Mary and together they had sons and daughters after the birth of Jesus.

.

Mar 6:3  Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they were offended at Him.

.

As stated above, there are no mistakes in the Bible. We have read that there are two different genealogies traced down to Joseph.

Some churches claim that these genealogies are different because one is the line of Joseph and the other the line of Mary.

This is not correct as the Bible only traces down through the males.

.

With these facts in mind, we must conclude that there were in fact two men in the life of Mary called Joseph. The reason for this conclusion is that Joseph {the husband of Mary from the Solomon line} appears to be missing from the scriptures after Jesus is 12 years old. The following scripture shows Joseph and Mary together for the Passover when Jesus was 12 years old, but after this we hear no more about Joseph. We assume that Joseph died, but we do not know when exactly this happened.

.

Luk 2:42  And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast.

.

Luk 2:43  When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not know it;

.

Joseph is not mentioned as going to the marriage feast, so it seems that he may have been dead at this time.

.

Joh 2:1 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.

.

Mary was obviously alone at the time of the crucifixion. Christ appointed John to take care of her.

.

Joh 19:26 When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!”

.

Now we will look at the second Joseph.

.

In Luke we read of Joseph, who was of the Nathan line, {who it was supposed} was the Father of Christ. Of course, this is the earthly role played by Joseph because we know the Father of Christ was God the Father. The following scripture would indicate that Mary was married to the second Joseph at this time.

.

Luk 3:23  Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli,

.

There is a possibility that Mary married twice, her first husband called Joseph, married her before the birth of Christ. {The Solomon line}.

The second husband of Mary was also called Joseph {the Nathan Line} and he married Mary sometime before Christ started His ministry.

.

There are 14 generations difference from Abraham to Christ between Matthew and Luke. It is quite possible that there is a lot more to learn about Christ. Whatever it is will be revealed by the Elijah to come. The following scripture has set at naught in the King James version which means despised.

.

Mar 9:12 Then He answered and told them, “Indeed, Elijah is coming first and restores all things. And how is it written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things and be treated with contempt?

.

The mystery of God is finished at the sound of the seventh angel.

.

Rev 10:7 but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.
