THE BOOK OF EZEKIEL
The book of Ezekiel is a prophecy for the end time watchman. The latter-day Ezekiel will be God’s watchman who will warn Israel of impending trouble. This book is now revealed as the time draws near for the message to go out. This warning will be given when God is ready. It is of vital importance to know the message very clearly. I cannot quote every verse because of space, but I ask the reader to read each chapter to become conversant with this book.
Chapter one gives a detailed account of Cherubs: this is extremely important, as God the Father rides on a throne, which is carried by Cherubs. God the Father cannot be looked upon, but Ezekiel could see the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. God the Father has a rainbow round the throne. Cherubs are mentioned also in chapter ten.
Eze 1:28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. So when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking.
Rev 4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne.
Rev 4:3 And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.
Eze 10:20 This is the living creature I saw under the God of Israel by the River Chebar, and I knew they were cherubim.
Psa 18:10 And He rode upon a cherub, and flew; He flew upon the wings of the wind.
We have to know what the cherubs look like, who carry God’s throne. Here are some examples.
Eze 1:4 Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
Eze 1:5 Also from within it came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man.
Chapter two tells Ezekiel to eat God’s words and learn the message. There is no good news for Israel in the message.
Eze 2:9 Now when I looked, there was a hand stretched out to me; and behold, a scroll of a book was in it.
Eze 2:10 Then He spread it before me; and there was writing on the inside and on the outside, and written on it were lamentations and mourning and woe.
The watchman must speak God’s words.
Eze 2:7 You shall speak My words to them, whether they hear or whether they refuse, for they are rebellious.
Eze 2:8 But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you.”
Jeremiah tells us what it means to eat God’s words. The message of the little book is all bad news, but the knowledge of the Lord; which is revealed at the same time is absolutely delightful.
Jer 15:16 Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.
The book which God hands to the watchman; contains the true knowledge of God. This book has been revealed one step at a time, beginning with the knowledge that Jesus Christ is the Son of God from the beginning; and also the true knowledge of the Passover.
Chapter three continues on from two. The watchman has to thoroughly learn the book that God gives him: he then must go to the house of Israel. Ezekiel goes to those of the captivity, but they do not hear. My wife and I took the initial knowledge of God the Father to church members: they would not hear this knowledge. The watchman will speak God’s words to the House of Israel when God is ready.
Eze 3:4 Then He said to me: “Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them.
The message will not go out until God is ready.
Eze 3:26 I will make your tongue cling to the roof of your mouth, so that you shall be mute and not be one to rebuke them, for they are a rebellious house.
Eze 3:27 But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD.’ He who hears, let him hear; and he who refuses, let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.
Chapter four is an interesting chapter with Ezekiel doing some strange things. The siege against Jerusalem is a sign to the house of Israel.
Eze 4:2 Lay siege against it, build a siege wall against it, and heap up a mound against it; set camps against it also, and place battering rams against it all around.
Eze 4:3 Moreover take for yourself an iron plate, and set it as an iron wall between you and the city. Set your face against it, and it shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This will be a sign to the house of Israel.
Ezekiel chapter four is a sign of trouble for Jerusalem, which is described in chapter twenty six.
Eze 26:8 He will slay with the sword your daughter villages in the fields; he will heap up a siege mound against you, build a wall against you, and raise a defense against you.
The prophecy is against Jerusalem.
Eze 4:7 “Therefore you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem; your arm shall be uncovered, and you shall prophesy against it.
The siege will bring famine to Jerusalem.
Eze 4:16 Moreover He said to me, “Son of man, surely I will cut off the supply of bread in Jerusalem; they shall eat bread by weight and with anxiety, and shall drink water by measure and with dread,
Eze 4:17 that they may lack bread and water, and be dismayed with one another, and waste away because of their iniquity.
Ezekiel chapter five continues the prophecy against Jerusalem as a warning to all of Israel.
Eze 5:4 Then take some of them again and throw them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire. From there a fire will go out into all the house of Israel.
Jews will become cannibals when they are punished by God.
Eze 5:10 Therefore fathers shall eat their sons in your midst, and sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments among you, and all of you who remain I will scatter to all the winds.
Eze 5:12 One-third of you shall die of the pestilence, and be consumed with famine in your midst; and one-third shall fall by the sword all around you; and I will scatter another third to all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.
Eze 5:17 So I will send against you famine and wild beasts, and they will bereave you. Pestilence and blood shall pass through you, and I will bring the sword against you. I, the LORD, have spoken.’ ”
Ezekiel chapter four and five tells of the punishment to come on Jerusalem. This punishment is a sign to the house of Israel. The house of Israel will also become cannibals at the time of Jacob’s trouble.
Ezekiel chapter six is a prophecy against Israel. Israel includes the english speaking countries of the world.
Eze 6:2 “Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them,
Israel will fall just as Jerusalem has fallen.
Eze 6:11 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Pound your fists and stamp your feet, and say, ‘Alas, for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! For they shall fall by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.
This is the time of Jacob’s trouble. Jerusalem has fallen and been a sign, but the English speaking countries will not heed.
Ezekiel chapter seven gives a short account of what happens and why it happens.
Eze 7:11 Violence has risen up into a rod of wickedness; None of them shall remain, None of their multitude, None of them; Nor shall there be wailing for them.
God turns away from Israel. Robbers [tyrants] enter our land, which has been protected by God.
Eze 7:22 I will turn My face from them, And they will defile My secret place; For robbers shall enter it and defile it.
Ezekiel chapter eight tells of the abomination of desolation, which is set up in the temple. This abomination is instigated by the ‘little horn’ of Daniel who deceives some Israelites. This occurs after Israel has been brought back from captivity.
Eze 8:6 Furthermore He said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel commits here, to make Me go far away from My sanctuary? Now turn again, you will see greater abominations.”
An angry God.
Eze 8:18 Therefore I also will act in fury. My eye will not spare nor will I have pity; and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them.”
Chapter nine gives the punishment of those elders, and their families, who are causing abominations. God slays those who follow the little horn; with their families. It seems apparent that God kills these people because they are children of the devil.
Eze 9:6 Utterly slay old and young men, maidens and little children and women; but do not come near anyone on whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the temple.
Eze 9:7 Then He said to them, “Defile the temple, and fill the courts with the slain. Go out!” And they went out and killed in the city.
Chapter ten gives another description of Cherubs.
Eze 10:20 This is the living creature I saw under the God of Israel by the River Chebar, and I knew they were cherubim.
In Ezek. Ch. 11 God foretells the trouble to come on the house of Israel. These Israelites are in Jerusalem; they have been through Jacob’s trouble, and been brought back to Jerusalem. Some have gone bad again.
Eze 11:5 Then the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said to me, “Speak! ‘Thus says the LORD: “Thus you have said, O house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind.
God the Father has come to earth to punish the people who have defiled the temple. He then goes to the Mount of Olives, and the worst time in human history begins.
Eze 11:23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city and stood on the mountain, which is on the east side of the city.
Zec 14:3 Then the LORD will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle.
Zec 14:4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south.
Ezekiel Chapter 12 is still talking about the Israelites who have been rescued from the Nations. Notice the Israelites are in Jerusalem.
Eze 12:10 Say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “This burden concerns the prince in Jerusalem and all the house of Israel who are among them.” ’
The prince in Jerusalem is the evil being known as the little horn. The prince is the person who instigates the abomination of desolation.
Eze 12:13 I will also spread My net over him, and he shall be caught in My snare. I will bring him to Babylon, to the land of the Chaldeans; yet he shall not see it, though he shall die there.
Dan 11:31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation.
Eze 28:2 “Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Because your heart is lifted up, And you say, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods, In the midst of the seas,’ Yet you are a man, and not a god, Though you set your heart as the heart of a god
Eze 28:7 Behold, therefore, I will bring strangers against you, The most terrible of the nations; And they shall draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom, And defile your splendor.
Eze 28:8 They shall throw you down into the Pit, And you shall die the death of the slain In the midst of the seas.
Eze 28:9 “Will you still say before him who slays you, ‘I am a god’? But you shall be a man, and not a god, In the hand of him who slays you.
The little horn is killed in Babylon, and his followers are scattered throughout the earth.
Eze 12:14 I will scatter to every wind all who are around him to help him, and all his troops; and I will draw out the sword after them.
This chapter now reverts to what the watchmen have to do to warn of the above events. The following verses explain the events of chapter 4.
Eze 12:17 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Eze 12:18 “Son of man, eat your bread with quaking, and drink your water with trembling and anxiety.
Eze 12:19 And say to the people of the land, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the land of Israel: “They shall eat their bread with anxiety, and drink their water with dread, so that her land may be emptied of all who are in it, because of the violence of all those who dwell in it.
Eze 4:16 Moreover He said to me, “Son of man, surely I will cut off the supply of bread in Jerusalem; they shall eat bread by weight and with anxiety, and shall drink water by measure and with dread,
The chapter finishes with a warning to Judah [land of Israel] and Jacob [house of Israel].
Eze 12:22 “Son of man, what is this proverb that you people have about the land of Israel, which says, ‘The days are prolonged, and every vision fails’?
Eze 12:27 “Son of man, look, the house of Israel is saying, ‘The vision that he sees is for many days from now, and he prophesies of times far off.’
Ezekiel Chapter 13 is a warning to false prophets. Those who call bad: good, and those who call good: bad. At the time of writing: the evil people of this world are given respectability, while the Bible is ignored.
Eze 13:19 And will you profane Me among My people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, killing people who should not die, and keeping people alive who should not live, by your lying to My people who listen to lies?”
Isa 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Ezekiel Chapter 14 tells of the punishment to the house of Israel; both leaders and others.
Eze 14:4 “Therefore speak to them, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Everyone of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the LORD will answer him who comes, according to the multitude of his idols,
