THE CALLING OF GOD
Why is it that the greater majority of mankind is not interested in the word of God?
Today we have people calling on houses with Bibles, we have evangelists on TV, all of which appear to be doing God’s work, but why do the greater majority of people, turn off, tune out and ignore these people.
THERE HAS TO BE A CALLING FROM GOD
This may upset some people who like to preach the gospel to all and sundry, but it is none the less Bible truth.
Christ told His disciples to preach the gospel.
Mar 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
The gospel had to be preached to all the world, this does not mean that people had to be forced to believe, forced to obey, forced to hear. This is where many people are misled, the gospel message needed to be available to people who were interested in hearing it.
Notice in the time of the disciples, there were people who did not want to hear the gospel message, and it is the same today……
Mat 10:14 And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.
Not only were some people not willing to hear the gospel but there were some who would punish the disciples for what they were saying. Again, today it is no different.
Mat 10:17 But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues.
Mat 10:18 You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
Here in a nutshell is the reason for this……there has to be a calling from God.
NOTICE THAT NO MAN CAN COME TO CHRIST
Joh 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
The average person who does not want to hear the word of God has not been called.
There are no exceptions, that is what the scripture says and that is what the scripture means.
When Christ Himself was here on earth, there were only a small group who believed Him.
Act 1:15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty), and said,
Today the greater majority of people are blinded to the truths of God, they cannot understand the scriptures.
Mat 13:10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”
Mat 13:11 He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.
Mat 13:12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
Mat 13:13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
Notice the following scripture.
Rom 11:7 What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.
Rom 11:8 Just as it is written: “GOD HAS GIVEN THEM A SPIRIT OF STUPOR, EYES THAT THEY SHOULD NOT SEE AND EARS THAT THEY SHOULD NOT HEAR, TO THIS VERY DAY.”
For now Satan is the god of this world, and the people generally are deceived by him.
2Co 4:3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
2Co 4:4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
Notice he deceives the whole world………
Rev 12:9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
God will one day change the heart of Israel, and they will obey God.
Eze 11:19 Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh,
Eze 11:20 that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.
Eze 36:33 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will also enable you to dwell in the cities, and the ruins shall be rebuilt.
Eze 36:34 The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass by.
Eze 36:35 So they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate, and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’
Eze 36:36 Then the nations which are left all around you shall know that I, the LORD, have rebuilt the ruined places and planted what was desolate. I, the LORD, have spoken it, and I will do it.”
Eze 36:37 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will also let the house of Israel inquire of Me to do this for them: I will increase their men like a flock.
Eze 36:38 Like a flock offered as holy sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem on its feast days, so shall the ruined cities be filled with flocks of men. Then they shall know that I am the LORD.” ’ ”
Notice these great scriptures, and how one day Israel will be changed to a heart that will obey God.
Jer 32:36 “Now therefore, thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city of which you say, ‘It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:
Jer 32:37 Behold, I will gather them out of all countries where I have driven them in My anger, in My fury, and in great wrath; I will bring them back to this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely.
Jer 32:38 They shall be My people, and I will be their God;
Jer 32:39 then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them.
Jer 32:40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me.
Eze 36:22 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went.
Eze 36:23 And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the LORD,” says the Lord GOD, “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes.
Eze 36:24 For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.
Eze 36:25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.
Eze 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
Eze 36:28 Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God.
