UNITY

.

.

God wants His people to dwell in unity.

.

Psa 133:1 A Song of Ascents. Of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!

Psa 133:2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments.

Psa 133:3 It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing Life forevermore.

.

God gave teachers etc. with the ultimate result being unity and knowledge.

.

Eph 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,

Eph 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

Eph 4:13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

.

If two churches think they live in unity, and have different doctrines; then at least one church is believing a lie. God’s unity is agreeing with, and believing God’s truth. Read the next verse slowly: we have to agree on doctrines, have no division, have the same mind, and same judgment.

.

We can only be correctly united by believing the Bible, which is God’s word. Speaking the same thing, is believing Bible doctrine

.

1Co 1:10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

.

Every person on earth has a different personality, and different ways of living our life. There is a massive difference in each person’s life. To be united means believing, and following God’s truth. This is a spiritual unity.

.

We do not have to agree with everyone in our physical lives: this would make us hopeless clones. We have to agree with God’s truth, and be unified by it.
